SUPPORT THE ADELAIDE BUSINESS COLLECTIVE
BID/BIA PROPOSAL

The world’s first Business Improvement Area (BIA) was created by businesses in the Bloor West Village in Toronto Canada in 1970. Since that time over 3,000 BIAs or BIDs have been launched successfully in main streets, cities and regional town centres across the world. Australia’s first BID has been launched in the Sydney Waterfront Area and new pilots are being established all over the State. The ABC Committee wants the Council and Government to support a test pilot in the Adelaide CBD to support a strong economy. See more information on the Strategy page of this site.

” Haighs Chocolates in committed to the City Centre of Adelaide with three stores in the Central Market, Adelaide Arcade and King William Street. A well organised marketing effort promoting small stores will benefit businesses across the City.”

” As an independent retailer in a mainstreet in North Adelaide, I believe a stronger co-ordinated marketing effort for the City and North Adelaide will lift the profile of our business, and nearby businesses while bringing more customers to the street.”

” A new partnership that focusses on making retailers and businesses more competitive in the market will be noticed and new retailers will want to take retail space in the City and provide a more diverse and unique offer. No one wants to see vacant shops and offices.”
